BodyRockTV - 30 Day Challenge: Week 4... the verdict is in.

I'm completely sold on BodyRockTV.  It's an amazing way to add exercise to a busy day and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting in shape.  So... I'm going to share my before and after pics with you.  I'm doing it reluctantly, but I'm so impressed with the results after only four weeks that I think the pictures will tell a better story than anything I can write.
We did a total of 20 days of workouts.  Some were excruciating and some felt, dare I say it, easy.  I feel stronger, which is the most important thing to me, and I can't say enough good things about the site. It takes a little bit of prep work each day to write down the list of exercises and then watch the video to see how to do each one.  Some days have two sets of exercises so the total time invested in actually working out is up to 30 minutes but that's still nothing compared to how long I used to spend in the gym (before having kids of course!)

As I said in my first post about the 30 Day Challenge, I didn't consciously change how or what I ate.  In fact we (my family) went out for breakfast a couple times on weekends and I had two nights out that involved too much delicious food and perhaps a little too much wine!  The only thing I've changed is adding a workout every night of the week for the last four weeks (weekends not included).

Here are my results - the picture quality isn't amazing.  We used my iPhone because I really thought they would only be for me but you can see the change in muscle tone and shape:

I've lost an 1.5" on my waist and .75" on my hips.  A and I are committed to this now.  BodyRock is doing another 30 day challenge this month and we're going to do that one next.

I realize that if I want to see really good results I need to change how I fuel my body.  I struggled last week with how to do that because I know from experience that if I feel any food is restricted it has a very negative effect on me psychologically.  Then I had an epiphany the other night - rather than take things away, I'll make healthy choices to add in.  Like having breakfast, which is just a coffee (or two) right now and that's all before the kids and I have lunch.  Or including more vegetables with every meal.  I'm going to try to make one addition each week and we'll see how it goes!

Have any other ideas?  I'd love to hear them.

Have a great week!!!

  1. Wow!! You look terrific. Thanks for sharing your before and after shots. I now how hard it is to do that. You have motivated me to try this at home too. Can I ask where you bought the door mounted pull-up bar and the dip station that attaches to the pull-up bar? All the ones I have seen have been so expansive. Thanks again for the inspiration!!

  2. Yay!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited to hear that. I picked up the door mounted pull-up bar at Fitness Depot and the Dip Station at Canadian Tire. In total it was $65 for both. Let me know how the workouts go!

  3. I want to show this to all my clients so they can see that it's TOTALLY possible to see amazing results in less than a month. Consistency and dedication. So happy that you were rewarded with a visual change as well as an internal one :)
